Hmm Yuki has always been my favorite character, I liked seeing her as a normal girl. and not until around the last scene did I imagine it was Yuki who was responsible for altering the world. Up until then I thought it was Asakura who was responsible and looking back I don't see how that would've been possible. That's all I have for now until I properly gather my thought xP
Another thing, the scene where Kyon is talking to himself about his decision to stay in the alternate universe or not was just great.

Agreed! Kyon's narration was superb throughout. He may be an ordinary guy but I think that's what's so special about the stories being told from his perspective. Then again, his responsibilities do make him pretty special don't they. I mean, a wild card of triggering the destruction of the universe gives him an upper hand. Even against the Integrated Data Sentient Entity.

Without a doubt, Endless Eight must have contributed because she is aware of these things happening. How much was poor Yuki taking? She may seem the same all the time but the inevitability that was generated made sense. It also tells us, as Kyon says, that there is emotion in there, somewhere. It's the IDSE's fault she's the way she is, though... perhaps under the assumption that it would be less likely she would cause trouble.
The film managed to make me look at Endless Eight from a different angle, though. To me, the show tries to show, in some way, how one should value life in every moment, and to make the most of it.
In Endless Eight, Kyon broke the cycle by arranging something as simple as a study night and the world carries on because Haruhi found the world acceptable. Sure, at the time it felt like wee, as fans, wee being made fun of. But it feels like the film added some kind of meaning to it.
The animation is perfect, the voice acting is superb, the story was thought provoking and interesting while upholding that great feeling the series' best moments had for almost it's entire duration, from the original opening song to the scene after the credits and I loved it.
I'm not rating it, I want to watch everything again before I do that. Hehe.

Yeah, Endless 8 got a bit painful for me to stick with, but I suffered alongside Yuki. At least they didn't just recycle the animation, they put in enough visual changes to keep me watching. The movie was amazing! More than made up for the somewhat disappointing second season. I guess when you have that much hype for a series it would be hard to maintain that level. But the movie did it for me. Now just waiting like everyone else for season 3 to be announced, I can't imagine they'd let a series that popular go.

Anyway, I echo your sentiments Games. Hoping they don't take too long to pick up where they left off again - they have the material for it so...
