Power got cut, so computer obviously turned off "badly".
When power came back on, turned PC on, everything fine, as expected.
Except one thing, the HDD LED was constantly on, and I noticed my music playback was a bit choppy. Tried looking at HDD activity in task manager / system monitor but couldn't find anything.

Eventually, I managed to track it down to Windows software RAID:

Initially, it didn't have a percentage, and I could actually use the drive, so a little double you tee eff.  Now it does have a %, though looks like it'll take some time >_>

It seems to be filesystem dependent, as the other 100GB partition is fine and Windows never tried resynching it.

Really dodgy and somewhat double you tee eff.  Don't like this software RAID thing...
Isn't NTFS meant to be a journaling filesystem anyway?  Can't it use that in some way to do a quick synch if necessary?

So resynched in around 6 hours. Shorter than expected, but not a procedure I really like anyway >_>

I'm guessing you're using RAID1. What's the 100GB RAW partition for on each disk?

Yes, mirrored volumes.
Other is a non-Windows recognisable filesystem.

Computer crashed because keyboard fell on it (lol).
This happened yesterday and it's now resyncing again.
Been 24 hours and still not done.

Seriously double you tee eff.
MS's piece of poo poo dynamic disks.

It is always advisable to have a UPS connected to your system. It will ensure that you have got enough time to save your work. Moreover in the end you can safely shut down your system. Two years back my system also got shut down due to power failure. I was not using UPS at that time Home Theater Design . I tried to restart the system but it did not work. Finally I had to seek professional help to solve the issue. From that day onwards I have always had a UPS attached to my system.

You're probably right there, though I don't expect a lot of blackouts, so I'm not really sure whether it's worth it, plus PC components should survive some anyway (not a power surge though).
I'll probably get something similar in the future, but it's not something I consider terribly critical at the moment.

But with the case of Windows dynamic disks, there's also the problem of the computer crashing, causing a similar thing to happen.

I'm guessing you're using software RAID. Would you get the same problem with a hardware RAID card? They're not too expensive thses days for a basic one.

I broke the Windows RAID and switched to fakeraid (onboard Intel).

Cheap RAID cards are said to be unreliable. Probably won't get the same issue, but IDK. Fakeraid probably doesn't get it either.
