DRM question
Just a couple of quick questions.
If I use a converter to convert an mp3 to another format will it lose its DRM?
and if I use a converter and select to convert it to the same format, will that remove DRM?
If none of those remove DRM, how can I remove it?
Sorry if I'm really stupid.

RE: DRM question
trial and error?
I think it depends on what service put the drm on as to how it is removed?

The easiest method is to burn them to disk as an Audio CD and rip them.
It may be a better idea to do this with virtual images instead but either way its a pain in the donkey.
How'd you end up with DRMed tunes?
Edit: Zune Pass? You might not be able to do anything with them - its subscription based as you know - they are made to be near-worthless.

RE: DRM question
When all else fails record the audio. But seriously, if you can avoid it do it another way. The hassle plus added noise and lost quality due to the digital>analog>digital conversion make it a last resort.

RE: DRM question
You can record the line out feed, which will remove a lot of the noise that might otherwise be present, and, if you've got the time to, i'd suggest that. Else, as Sensei suggested, try burning to disk, although if theyre supscription based, it might be impossible / difficult

RE: DRM question
There are DRM removal applications, though IDK for Zune (I think most of them are for iTunes).
Converting to another format will remove the DRM, assuming you actually _can_ convert it to another format. If you do, convert to FLAC/WAV if you don't want to lose quality.
But typically as most DRM allows burning to an audio CD, that's what's generally done, as said above.
