question.....
i have an old ps3 with a broken power supply meaning i get the RLOD.... but i do have an old pc power supply..... now what I'm thinking of doing is gutting the old ps3 and sticking everything into some container..... all I'm asking is will the ps3 work off a pc power supply.... don't really need it for heavy usage but i would love to be able to play some ps2 games again as my new ps3 does not....

RE: question.....
why won't you just buy a faulty ps3 and just swap the things from your ps3 into the faulty one with like a faulty blu-ray

If you need a power supply for it just let me know. I work for video game repair shop so I can get you one for real cheap.

If you change the air flow to much in the ps3 it will over heat. Like running it with the top off may cause it to over heat.

Why know just get a PS2, I'm pretty sure they're cheap nowadays.
Unless you saved your data on the PS3's HHD then I don't know what you can do from there except start over.

I'm lucky there.... my uber-important gamesaves (dark cloud, DBZ B3, GT4, GTA 3, VC and SA) are on my old ps2 mem card...... i kept them there cause i knew something like this would happen one day. Smokingg  i only went a little further in these games but nothing a couple of days won't fix....
