Wii have a problem.
Alright, I got a Wii chipped with Wiikey and system menu version 3.4. I want to play New Super Mario Bros. (backup disc), but it asks for an update, and I'm too afraid to do it because the Wii says it could make the system unoperable, in simple words, brick.

Is there a way to play this game on my Wii without losing my backup ability\modchip?? I don't have any softmod\hb installed, do I have to??

I got a 2gb SD card, if it's needed.

RE: Wii have a problem.
Sadly the Wii chip scene isn't really updated anymore.  Softmods has pretty much taken over the wii scene.

New super mario bros has a new protection from nintendo also called BCA (or something like that)  so this means even if you get passed the update, you will still have a problem with the BCA.

But If you got the scrubbed/patched copy, that means the update and the BCA and the update will be removed.  So that's the best change of getting it working on a chip.  If it still don't work after yo tried the scrubbed/patched then you may have to use softmods (usbloader)

RE: Wii have a problem.
That's the problem. I've tried many times downloading games via torrent and burning them on a DVD, but it never worked. Could you help me with this Scrubber thing? I'm a total noob :(

I've heard about USBLoader. It's like loading games from a PSP MS, right?

Heh, I asked the same question awhile back when the Australian was first released.
