I'm Going Away For A Week
for our half term i am going away on holiday for a week, sounds fun, until you realise where i am going

the arrow points to where i am staying in wales, looks good right?
well look at the terrain around it
[Image: 2dl14sw.png]
wee're going to be in the middle of a valley, during autumn, which means there will be lots and lots of rain, and the fact wee're in such an isolated area means there is no phone signal or internet for miles (and i mean miles), thank god my girlfriend doesn't mind Inluv

so urm yeah, if this forum seems civilised, that's because I'm not around, expect the forum to be spammed with photos when i get back though Hihi if it stops raining for at least a day Ahhyes

RE: I'm Going Away For A Week
So North Wales eh? Everyone speaks English but don't count on being able to understand the accent! Being North Wales you're correct about the rain. Phone coverage is surprisingly good.

If you go into a town called Llanberis (very likely as it's the center of most of the touristy stuff) make sure you go to Pete's Eats. Its not easy to miss as its painted in bright colours on the main street. Its like a greasy spoon except the food is really nice. Also there's internet upstairs for cheap (can't remember how much.) Ask your parents/guardians if you can do the Dinorwig Power Station (Electric Mountain) tour. Its really interesting and it gets you out the rain for a good few hours. Also try and go up Snowdon. I'm not sure if the train is still running at this time of the year. I've been up twice on foot and it's worth the walk. The new building at the top is meant to be really nice. The Snowdon train and the Dinorwig Power Station tour are both in Llanberis. If you feel like a walk try and go up to Llyn Ogwen. The walk isn't that long and the scenery is amazing.

Take a camera because, even in the rain, the scenery is absolutely beautiful.

Enjoy. I'm sure you will. Post pics when you get back.

oh i forgot to say, I've been to this part of wales every year of my life so far so i know the area like the back of my hand.
the phone signal in our cottage is non existent, i mean i don't even think there was emergency signal.
i would love to walk snowdon again and see the new building but my family don't want to pay for the train or walk it and apparently our dogs would not be able to handle it.
i would love to do the electric mountain but wee're going for a cheap holiday and wee have to have our dogs with us at all times ¬_¬.

if its raining a little i will risk my DSLR but if there is too much i won't bother, i don't want to ruin my camera.

and a raincoat!

If you get a chance, drink from a natural spring in a mountain. The nicest water I've ever tasted.

an untouched, abandoned quarry, this plus my camera equipment (camera, stock lens, 70-300 lens, tripod, danboard) is going to make for some serious fun, i may have to go up by myself one day, I'm sure my family don't want to spend ages at one part of it waiting for me to take a picture XD
