vista 64bit
So nearly 2 years ago i tried win xp 64bit i asume that programs/games are more compatible now? back then i ran into alot of compatibility issues and decided to go back to 32bit.

Whot issue's would i run into now if i was to install win vista 64bit?

-Will all my games still work? eg Crysis, F.E.A.R. 2, Dead Space?
-Whot programs are fully 64bit ?
-Drivers,. are all drivers updated?
-Codecs i guess all codecs should work on 64bit now,.>!?

whot i want to know is,.. is there still a big difference between 32bit & 64bit>!?

Considering installing vista 64bit,. since 64bit is twice faster then 32bit,..

Don't hear/see alot of news about the "64bit" scene. Knock-knock

RE: vista 64bit
i was on 64bit for over 6 months...EA games were starting to piss me off to the point that i went back to vista32bit :(

Crysis has 64bit exe.

Drivers you shouldn't have a problem.

You will need a 64bit codec pack.

RE: vista 64bit
Advantages:
- Slightly faster - probably expect around 10-15% speed gain
- Ability to address >4GB memory
- Can run both 32bit and 64bit apps

Disadvantages:
- Larger RAM/HDD footprint
- Older devices may not have 64bit drivers
- Quirks of WOW64

Not really that much of a difference.  IMO not really worth setting up a new OS for.
Your games should work, as well as most applications.  Some lower level apps may not work (ie RAMDisks, firewalls, etc).  Drivers, you'll have to look at them.  And you can use 32bit codecs fine on 64bit Windows.

RE: vista 64bit
Truthfully, it doesn't matter which you use. Unless you are not using more than 4GB RAM, you will find little difference between the two. As for the speed gain, yes its there, but if you don't really think/observe that in that detail, you won't even notice it.

However, if you are going to, then going for 64-bit isn't that bad a decision. Compatibility is hardly of any issue now.

It isn't. You won't get close to 2x performance. It is faster though.

No you don't.

No you don't.

You would, technically, for a 64-bit media player. But I, myself, don't know any, other than WMP 64-bit.

In any case, K-Lite has a 64-bit add-on, in the event that you do run into compatibility issues with some media player.

I had bad experience with MPC-HC. Will give it a try on this new OS installation though.
