If you feel your being overwhelmed by C, I would suggest starting off with Lua.  ;)

it is part of Microsoft Visual Studio
get v6 or something, or version 2005. you can get VS.NET but its different

same here :P i was told by a leet programmer about 4 years ago that he wanted me to learn C++.net
but i couldnt be fudgeed
