Well the D2C are a bit trickier.

Here is a picture of a D2C with one of the earlier chips for that board.
Newer chips will be a littler easier to install then the pic of course.  

But just to  give you an idea...

Wiikey is easy and update-able. With it's own updates too.
I love my Wii and my WiiKey.
But if you're talking about another Wii.. that's a different story. No mods for that one from my gallery. O:
