Please help
Hi All, I've got a [JAP] 1.5 firmware PSP running 3.40 OE-A. The problem that I have is that I can't mod the topmenu_plugin.rco, the reason fo this is that I have two extra applications installed on the XMB. Under the network "icon" i have "Playstation spot" and "Portable TV". Now I've tried to use ZiNgA BuRgA's Custom RCOEditor to mod the topmenu_plugin.rco but when ever I try and open the file it says that I need to used a decypted 2.5 or below version rco. Version 2.5 rco don't have these additional app's installed as far as I know, so this doesn't help. I've also tried using the "Outa-space" application to remove the two apps, but with no success, as the two app's are also not part of the list of app's that it allows one to remove.

So to sum up my problem, I have two app's installed on the PSP, I don't know how to remove it, and I can't edit it out with the available editor's and I can't over-write the topmenu_plugin.rco with a new one, because it causes some of my icons to blank out..... Please advise....

OMG!!!!, YOU ARE THE BEST!!! Thank you so much, I had no idea, that the region function in the recovery menu controlled that setting, I thought it was just related to UMD movies, etc. Your advise has solved the problem. Now I can go ahead and flash my XMB to what I want it to be... Have a great day and thanks again..
