Erm, I have always had that icon... well it was under photos and under videos.  I think I had to "Search for media servers" or something like that before it got my PC.  Do you remember doing that for fun or something? Regardless, I'll check to see if this new icon is on mine as well.  If I see nothing different, or if I described what yours basically is, then whatever... maybe your PS3 is a test subject of Sony :)

nono, i mean, once I searched for media servers (if that was even required, but i remember doing that immediately the first time I got my PS3) it kept everything connected.  Are you connected via CAT5 straight to a router connected to only one computer?  I know it makes little sense, but maybe the fact that everything is so simple makes it just automatically detect that one comp and give you access to it?  I have no idea... just ignore me...

Well, do what I suggested, run the "Search for media servers" or soemthing like that. Also, make sure you have some sort of program like Windows Media Connect... hrmmm, do you think your mom may have recently added something like that?  For instance, I think I remember hearing something about one of the newer media players doing something like that (horrible idea, I know, but this was something I vaguely remember from like 2 years ago).  That would explain why her comp is showing it and not yours. For instance, only my comp shows up for videos and photos that can be played on my 360 and PS3 because I am running Windows Media Connect.  Ask her if she has done anything new to her comp, and maybe that'll answer your question.

Did it do that on its own, or did you use a program like Windows Media Connect to make it work?
