Rather than calling it essentially Time Travel, Time Travel is Time itself, so its a continuity I suppose.

There are theories which get around the "Grandfather paradox", such as the "Quantum Universe" idea - it's basically where, every time a particle has a choice of options, a new universe is "created" for each possible decision - in other words, an infinite number of universes.

I used to love reading this stuff :P

^^ well its only a general thing.. if you time travel like i explained then yes you will get to points in time faster and that's about it.... if you could create some kind of bubble around you to protect you from time then maybe you could actually go to the past and change it... like zinga says there are other thoeries that allow for it... but wee also theorize that by using some machane to try and stabilze a worm hole or make a bubble that it will release so much radiation that everything around it will be destroyed.... quantum universe is a way around that basically saying that there are infinte possibities where anything that could happen will happen.. that stuff is just theories as of now so i don't know if its true or not.. no one does.... but it does make sense altho ive never believe in alternate universes and differnt time lines or that theres another me somewhere... i hope theres not another me somewhere anyway lol

universe is big..there should be other planets where there's smart life like on earth. hmm are they developped enough to see us? are wee watched? wee don't know :S

i wonder if it's true...earth life will become unlivable in 50 years?

i thought nothing but light can travel at light's speed cause anything having matter will gain more n more mass while approaching the speed of light and at light 's speed the mass would be too much to travel at light's speed n so u can't travel back in time i guess

any electromagnetic wave can and does travel at the speed of light unless impeded by something. so radio waves, microwaves, light etc all travel at the speed of light. But you know how refraction works? where you have a straw in a glass of refreshing beverage and the straw appears to be broken in two parts? That's because the light as it enters the glass and the refreshing beverage is slowed down. Same goes with electricity. It doesn't quite travel at the speed (i think. I'm not sure it affects electricity as well) of light because it is impeded by the wires.
this means that light on earth travels slower than light in space because light on earth is impeded and slowed by the atmosphere.

dunno what the hell this has to do with it but there you go i said it now. ha!

Electrons move quite slow, however, the effects are "felt" at the speed of light.
