RE: Computer Accessories Upgrade
has 1440p Monitor

Runs at 900p

WAT?

Jus run it native since its big enough nd them make the OS scale up.

Usb hubs in keyboards are usefull for pendrives etc.
could be the reason it doesn't work is mainly because the keyboard is meant to be powered by usb for the lighting also.

Edit*

coolermaster website Wrote:How many Brightness settings does Triggers LED Backlight have?
By default Trigger has 3 levels, but if you want it to be even brighter or want to use power hungry USB devices on Triggers built in USB hub, you can connect a standard 5VDC PSU.
As soon as the PSU has been connected, you will be able to boost the LED brightness setting by 2 additional Levels!

So yea that explains its. having it on lowest brightness at leas zinga then you can see it at night. though saying that your huge monitor could light it.

I don't see what you don't run it at native.
also lol Boogy you have a 32" tv that only runs 720p. I hate how they make hd-ready tvs that dnt push it.
I was lucky and during after christmas sales 2-3 years ago i got me a nice 1080p 32" tv works great.

You do realise that Window 7's (and also Linux Mint's) DPI scaling is pretty poo poo, right?

But if the lighting is off, you'd expect it to consume about as much power as the typical USB keyboard...

When you touch type you don't need to look at your keyboard at all.
Actually, I've never really got the idea behind keyboard lighting beyond aesthetics or those who can't touch type.  I always have a light on in the room anyway - it's a bit better for your eyes to have some ambient lighting.

RE: Computer Accessories Upgrade
i can for the most touch type but the fact is i don't properly know the layout in the dark as long i can see where my hands in general are on the keyboard when i type i can for the most type without knowing what the keys are. though tbf i don't use the nomal typing method i practically use fives finger tops when typeing and  not the thumb either except in rare occasions.

maybe because wee never had them sort of lessons and i cba learning if it doesn affect me. though i say i have slower typing skills than touch typers u do type pretty fast compared to others.

Your right about the keyboard does it not even ppower pendrives or anything.

yea windows 7 scaling doesn't seem to be as poo poo as it looks. can scale custom up to 500%
I've seen people use custom Scaling on retina macbooks using windows 7 to 200% from  searching. so you should set it similar.

also see this apparently it will do it quite well (windows XP legacy scaling is default to revent blur on non supporting programs.)

The checkbox for that is disabled (but ticked) for me.
DPI scaling seems to work better if you've got Aero on, but I don't, and things just look plain whack if it isn't 100%.  Typically text scales bigger, but icons don't, which is where proportionality gets broken.  Sometimes containers don't scale properly, so the larger text gets cut off, and this gets irritating.

But even with Aero on, I've found that not all things scale up properly.  Maybe the applications' fault in this case, but I still can't do anything about it.
So in the end, DPI scaling sucks, and lowering the resolution is the only real way to get things right.

Me disabling the keyboard lighting?

no, you said that it takes too much power even with the backlights turned off
