I don't know the specifics obviously, but I imagine in a "pure" communist system, you produce what you need to, and not any more (since the "more" gets shared anyway, and people are inherently selfish). Well, maybe they do produce more, but those extras will be sold on the black market or something and wouldn't turn up in official GDP records.

You can also choose to produce less, though I suppose they are typically dealt with soon enough.  Doesn't necessarily help the GDP though.
Illnesses etc can also play a part.  But maybe these are small enough to not show up in a graph.

He was also well aware of what the result would bring about in the trade competition between south Korea with export-oriented economy and the US. So he fully displayed his “loyalty” to his master to save the American economy from the crisis even by sacrificing the whole south Korean economy. He was thus appreciated by the US mass media as “Obama’s election campaigner.”

Worse still, he postponed the return of the “wartime command control” of the US to south Korea, which had been expected by 2012, and begged the US army’s permanent station in south Korea, even paying more money for maintenance of the GIs and transfer of a US military base. He drove the situation in the Korean peninsula to the brink of war by waging the unprecedentedly large-scale joint military exercises with the US army every year. It is well known to everybody that all kinds of violent crimes including murder and rape have been committed ceaselessly by the GIs styling themselves as the master of south Korea, that the south Koreans have lived in constant fear and uneasiness because of them, and that the US military bases have severely destroyed the environment of south Korea.

As seen above, the traitor Lee has been loyal to the ambition of the US to dominate the Korean peninsula and Asia, defying the aspiration of the Korean people to reunify the country with national efforts and to achieve the nation’s prosperity in a peaceful environment. Lee was such a national traitor that he met Obama in a break of the G-20 summit meeting in 2010 and proposed him that the US army’s Futenma airport—a sensitive issue even Japan, the closest ally of the US, hesitated to address—should be moved to an area of south Korea, shocking the latter and his aides. The traitor never hesitated to dispatch young south Koreans to the US-led Afghan war, and openly stated before the Korean compatriots in America that south Korea is an annoying country.

As his tenure is nearing an end, Lee’s treacherous acts are reaching the extreme, inflicting untold misfortunes and agony on the Koreans.

It is the shame of the Korean nation that the traitor Lee Myung Bak who sells out the national dignity and interests without hesitation still breathes as a Korean. Now it is the judgment of the nation to condemn the traitor to death with no delay lest he leave further blots in the history of the nation.

You may think this is all some troll guy sitting in his chair in the US somewhere having a laugh writing bullshit on the web, but it's not.  It's linked to by the official North Korean government website and has a .kp domain, which is means it's legitimately from North Korea.  This is the real deal, which is why it's so good.
