RE: Recommended firmware for PSP 1000?
Hmm. I'm seeing a common trait of 6.39 ME 9.5, which is what I was considering, actually. I didn't know if 9.5 was actually released, as I only saw it on one site, that looked sketchy. 6.60 pro gave me trouble. All of the sudden, I couldn't run Kingdom Hearts BBS (I mean the UMD!!) because of a 800200D9 memory access error. Other games worked, but KH wouldn't run, plugins or not.
I later found out that it might have been because the wrong ISO mode was selected, but I remember it being on M33, which works in other firmware with KH. Running the ISO in 6.60 Pro worked, but it had a bit of lag. Probably since I have a slower MS right now.
Getting my 16GB Sony HX today!

I'd Say 5.50 Gen-D is my favorite of them all

One question: if everyone's recommending 5.03/5.50 M33/Gen, how are you playing the newer games? I thought those versions have stopped updating? Plus, can you get as many features? I'd like to know the differences between the M33/Gen series and TN/Pro/ME LCFW/CFW.
I'll look it up, and post what I find, for other people to know.
Thanks.

Thanks.
To play newer games on older firmware, you need to patch the iso's themselves, or to patch the firmware which is what Pro is as far as I can remember.
I'm sticking with ME.

RE: Recommended firmware for PSP 1000?
Ah. Forgive me. I'm fairly new to the scene. It makes sense now. I see all of these patched games for 5.00 M33, etc.
So, for people who have used ME, why do you like it more than Pro? I've run both Pro and ME nearly the same amount of time, and I don't see much of a difference. Pro's Recovery Menu lets you press O to go back instead of having to scroll to "Back", but that's minor, lol. I do know that ME is by neur0n, rather than Pro, being made from a team.
I want to continue using ME, as well, as Pro may die due to one of their main team members leaving, but even I don't know. I'm trying to find some information regarding the differences between 6.60 ME, 6.39ME and Pro B9. If anybody can give me some pointers, that'd be nice.
