RE: OTAKUX: linux for otaku
Pretty pointless as an installable distro. But a nice idea for the anime watcher with a free USB drive indeed.

Edit: Chrome over Firefox? lulwut.

Catchy name, questionable suitability.
I'd expect such a thing to come with useless widget doll figures which sit around your screen - is this the case?

RE: OTAKUX: linux for otaku
I don't really see why you need a specific distro just to get an anime wallpaper and themes.  I'm sure you can do that in any normal distro just fine.

Actually, for anime, you should be building yourself mplayer-uau (aka. mplayer2) instead.  It's the only player that supports mkv ordered chapters (I mean segment linking, not normal mkv chapters), which you're going to come across sooner or later because some anime encoders like to abuse that stuff.  Also, VLC has some weird problems with MKV...

If it isn't clear already, wee're talking about Linux here.

That means you aren't going to get MPC-HC or CCCP, unless you run them in Wine or something (don't even know if that works).  Also, CCCP includes ffdshow, so you don't need to install both.

EDIT: I didn't see your edit at first.  Nah, no MPC-HC on Linux.  Also, MPC works via Windows' DirectShow framework, which doesn't exist in Linux, so you can't "simply port it over".

as far as I know, no.... (mpc relies on the windows build of ffdshow so I doubt it) most people just use mplayer.
