Avast is great. Just when you get it your gonna want to go Settings>Sound>Settings scroll down to Automatic VPS update. Apply blahdy blahdy blah. It gets hella annoying.

Well today was a wonderful day... Until an hour ago or so...
Bit defender was doing it's job and I wasn't going to instal avast until the last minute because I didn't want chocolateloads of stuff running since all I'm using is a laptop...
Well bitdefender's icon stays red when it's activated and when it either expires or what-not it turns grey...
Now all of a sudden I got two different programs saying chocolates infected and poo poo while the bit defender icon shines red in the task bar and I'm like double you tee eff!?!
Long story short... I got infected... and the computer bluescreens me randomly...
Well atleast my mom isn't as mad as she was along time ago when my computer wouldn't work (I could of fixed the problem then but I was at my dads house)
now I'm a sad panda...
come on start doing it the dirty way go and download Norton internet security 2010 with the 366 day crack it's the best anti virus and if you don't want to do it the dirty way it's worth buying it!
I still remember the world from the eyes of a child, Slowly those feelings where clouded by what I know now, Where has my heart gone? An uneven trade for the real world...

Hell no. Norton has a reputation of being a resource hog.
As for what antivirus, seriously, anything is fine, as long as you have one.
You don't even really need to have one if you're careful with what you downlaod. For a period of like 1yr or something in the past, I didn't even have an antivirus, yet I never got a virus either.

RE: Avast: Yay! or Nay?
I think only older versions of Norton were a resource hog - from what I've heard, they've improved a fair bit in more recent years.
I believe NAV also has one of the higher detection rates. So overall, shouldn't be too bad.

Yeah I think I mentioned in another thread that AV Comparatives found Norton has improved dramatically in resource usage and indeed does have a good detection rate.
