They certainly look like em... or they're some pretty chocolatety scars.. hah..

during the first parts of naruto he has his final fight with susake < can't spell
And he goes 9 tailed demon fox where basicaly glows red in chakara

in shippenen? < can't spell
he acctualy full goes demon fox
to fight ichimaru? < can't spell,

pretty good fight but to short,

he does have lite little scars on his face
like claw marks
But they come out more visable when he turns

when he goes full demon fox his skin shreds from his body and he starts to leak chakara into the air and condenses it to a ball and eat it then lets out a huge attack

the naruto shippuden series isn't all that bad
it starts to get into a more serous storyline,

and has "less" fillers at least,

It maybe worth watching a few eps of naruto,
its Okay
Just so many fillers and its made for a perticalur audience Mostly younger kids beginning
anime

meh yeah ive tired of watching reruns of naruto here in our country, i need more neo-apocalyptic settings for animes, lol, but yeah i still prefer mecha animes over this shows, lol
