My build (agreed not the latest) is running perfectl on a CM 390W. That is more than sufficient unless you're planning on setting up a disc array in your PC, install multiple cooling solution, multiple disc drives and SLI/Crossfire and very many h power USB powered devices. Just to be on a safer side, you can go for a 500W PSU... but anything over that is simply overkill.

I am assuming that you are intending this build to be a gaming rig. In that case, most of your periority shoould go to getting a good GPU and hi performance RAM. These two are the factors that determine gaming experience. You should do research about the various cards and select one according to your usage.

Really select any mobo, but just make sure that it has all the components you need... This is from personal experience. I got my new mobo out of haste as I needed it desperately. Although its awesome and all, it only had one IDE port. Now both my hdds and the CD ROM were IDE, so that was a downfall... Given that nowadays IDE is old generation, but it had its own uses whn I got them (the DVD ROM is a carry over by the way).

hdd is again entirely upto you.. you know usage. You can even go for a 2 TB hdd if you think that will suit your needs. However, consider the cost factors when selecting it.

Yea, I'll use that psu, and I was thinking of getting the AMD Phenom 2 X3 720 (3 cores) and O/C ing it to 3.6Ghz or something with the stock cooler.

Actually, RAM doesn't have that big an impact, as long as you have enough of it.  GPU is the most important, followed by CPU.  RAM/HDD are probably next after that.

Given... it may be lesser than GPU, but it plays a huge part... for instance, on the PC here, they had 512MB RAM nothing worked sommth. Call of Duty and CS and DotA lagged. I had it upgraded to 1GB, everything is playable! lol

2x1TB is cheaper than a 2TB drive...

Yeah... m point is that he can go for more capacity, if he feels that he needs it...

This is like the earlier debates: 2 250/500GB hdd (in RAID0) vs. 1 500/1000GB hdd..

@Catseye: You can probably knock of the 22 bucks if you carry on with your current DVD drive.

1x laptop which I use most, cannot run games like farcry 2 and fallout 3 above low spec with a few fx on
1x old budget desktop, i upgraded ram and dvd drive, but the drive is kinda sketchy, i got it off a friend for a 20gb hd.
I kinda need to get a new 1 :D

COD should play perfectly with512MB RAM under XP...

Optical drives - 1x DVD (found in junk collection) 1x very slow CD-RW
Graphics Card - Integrated Intel one, like 8-32mb or something bad (can run Halo in most high settings)
MOBO - some random budget one :D

EDIT: Anyway, I found out from Zinga Burga that you can unlock the 4th core in the Phenom II X3. Unfortunately, it requires A.C.C (Advanced Core Clocking or something) and that's a feature in the 790gx series motherboards and they cost $199.
