Windows 7 Review
Quote:Alright so the other day I got on the ball and installed Windows 7, just to set the record straight before you guys say it's Windows Vista it's not! Windows 7 really resembles Windows Vista a lot, maybe too many similarities or maybe just comfortable enough for your own use. Ok so immediately after installing Windows 7 I had to test if my old Windows Xp programs would work, so far every program I've used on Windows Xp And Windows Vista have worked flawlessly. Also with this new look it makes the new OS more noob friendly and easier organized (I still prefer Windows Xp organization). Alright so let me tell you about the new things in Windows 7, first thing you will notice different is the taskbar, this new taskbar makes it much much more organized when going through many different windows but it also takes some getting used to. With Windows 7 Windows Mail, Windows Movie Maker and Windows Photo Gallery are no longer included, instead they will be offered separately as part of the Windows Live Essentials suite. New features are better optimized compatibility with touch-screens, speech, and handwriting recognition. Wee now have Support for virtual hard disks, improved boot performance, and major kernel improvements. There have been new items added to Control Panel like, Accelerators, Clear Type Text Tuner, Display Color Calibration Wizard, Gadgets, Infrared, Recovery, Troubleshooting, Workspaces Center, Location and Other Sensors, Credential Manager, Biometric Devices, System Icons, Windows Solution Center, and Display. Of course Windows 7 sports the new Internet Explorer 8 (I still find this browser to be poo poo and a waste of time to continue working on....). Windows 7 is finally showing off new themes for Wordpad and Paint, this may also take some time to get used to. Alright well BitLocker isn't exactly new because it was introduced in Windows Vista but now theres more support across drives, Windows 7 BitLocker extends this protection to cover removable drives. To sum up BitLocker pretty much a laptop thief can't break into the locked drive, even after booting to a different OS or moving the drive to another computer, useful for maybe College students or travelers. So overall Windows 7 resembles Windows Vista majorly but has been optimized to run preferably better than any Windows Vista and damn near close to performance of Windows Xp.

RE: Windows 7 Review
As long as it runs fast and doesn't hog resources, and actually adds something useful, I'm sold. :)
So far, looking good.

RE: Windows 7 Review
From my look it's not eating any resources up and therefore it's been going amazingly faster than any Windows Vista out there, idk give me time to install alot of apps and then wee can really judge it.

i like that analogy.
I like vista for the looks, but it hides away all the useful settings under misleading menues and the like. Also why does it need to hog so many resources. Half of vista's 'features' are never touched.

RE: Windows 7 Review
Kratos, you can't use that version of win 7, that's 6933. It isn't even released on torrent sites yet, right now its on 6801, which I have. It works well, but its basically a stripped version of vista with a few gui redesigns, etc, that should have been in vista.
Still, it is much better than vista, runs faster, etc.
