Comp OS Suggestions
Alright, i just building a new computer.. Pretty good PC.
And i got up to 4gb of ram (Was planning to shove up to 8Gb)

But i was told 32bit OS can only use up to 3GB max =/

So im kinda stuck in choosing which OS to use

1. XP Pro 64bit
2. Vista Ultimate 32bit
3. Vista Ultimate 64bit

My Computer Specs
CPU: Q6600 Quad Core Overclocking to 4Ghz
Motherboard: ASUS P5KE Wifi
Videocard: MSI 8800 GTS 512mb Overclocked
Memory (RAM): 4gb overclocked Geil Ram
HDD: 1.5TB

So yup, need some suggestions on the OS =/

RE: Comp OS Suggestions
See if you can get a backwards compatible processor that can do both 64 and 32 OS.
AMD Athlon have one at 64 bit that is completely backwards compatible. The only problem is that they're quite expensive.......

By the way nice computer specs. I thought mine was pretty good and I've only got 2GB of RAM :P lol

RE: Comp OS Suggestions
That's some nice hardware.

How much did you pay for it?

I say XP x64 is a good choice. I don't like Vista much, cause it's slow, but with something powerful like yours, it may not be that slow. You can always run multiple OS.

RE: Comp OS Suggestions
Im jsut scared if i go onto 64bit, then some of the 32bit won't run =/
And since i got so much memory, think i should go quad OS?

like have
32/64 XP
32/64 Vista

all installed
====================

Unless someone can comfirm that 64bit can run 100% everything a 32bit can

RE: Comp OS Suggestions
I'm also interested concerning 64bit functionality.

If wee can use 64bit sets to make the most of our CPUs while running a hog like Vista it can be compensated.
