RE: 3.52 M33 - 3 released
One of the Wildcard members on maxconsole, said, they would also be doing this (blacklisting PS3thieves) with their next cfw...

And it would seem DarK_AleX is also supporting the PS3thieves ban (read his post at the bottom of this link:

http://forums.maxconsole.net/showthread....36&page=40

And earlier in that thread DAX said:

"Streak, despite i was attacked by that page, i contacted that page and wee made some kind of "no agression" pact. They have been violating that pact lots of times, even now that I left the scene, they do it even more.

The have been putting recently my supossed name in his page, some times with initials, but the other day he posted it fully.
What do they think they achieve by putting my real name? I really don't mind that, they cannot even probe is me or just the paypal owner. But they do it like trying to act as a "mafia" so sony can see the names of authors. They did same when Noobz released 3.03 HEN+downgrader, they put the ip of fanjita. They don't only not have respect for homebrew authors, but they put them in danger.

As for me, neither spanish police nor Sony needs a retard administrator of a loosers page to put my name, they have their own means to find me, much more efective than visiting a paypal address, so i cannot care less about them showing that name. IF someone from my environment know who i am, i will receive congrats because i have done no evil. It would be different if the name and address of the administrator of that page were leaked. He would actually be in physical danger, because he has not stopped of annoying developers from several years. He plays with fire, too bad for him, fire burns.

As you can see, there is nothing it can be done against that guy violating homebrew coders rights, so i see fair that coders are fighting them in dirty way to protect themselves or other coders. It is useless to talk to them, they still continue doing same things they have been done for years. I regret to have talked to them that time, it was the worst loose of time i have ever done. And i regret too not to have done the same in OE."

I myself have updated to 352 M33-3 with no problems  :)

RE: 3.52 M33 - 3 released
Step 1/ Download update from the source (pspx.ru)
Step 2/ Run update only after you have deleted your browser cache and never goto ps3news again.

hehe DAX himself...and yet i still feel this is wrong
Sure the site owners are tossers, but the majority of people just visit there to obtain news and downloads
They don't care about all that's going on insude, they just want there files

Very true, but unless things like this happen and KEEP happening, then wankers like ps3news will keep getting away with stealing other peoples stuff and taking credit for it, there the script-kiddies of the scene and should burn.

RE: 3.52 M33 - 3 released
i have a couple of genious ideas for custom firmware makers.
when you make your next custom firmware add a feature that spams ps3news.com and the associated ip address. now think about it - how many million people have a psp with a custom firmware. if each and every one of us donated just half our bandwidth to this cause wee could take the site down PERMANENTLY.
or perhaps wee could blacklist the dns and ip from the psp browser.
or even doing various crc checks on the installer and associated files (including the license file and readme) so no matter what they change it won't install (this is better than making bricks) and can be used to keep every file intact - those fags at ps3news are just hex kiddies - they can't code worth a spoon so they would have no way to combat this.
good ideas?

A bad idea in many ways.  For people who have limited bandwidth, for example.
Typically, people tend to perform DDoS attacks through sending out worms.

Neither approach is ethical however...  But if you're gonna be unethical, DDoS attack is much more appropriate.

IPs can easily be changed.  DNS, yes harder to change, but still possible to buy another domain.
Not a bad idea if you ask me though.

I think the M33-4 update does this (typically MD5 is used I think).

But I think they're a bit more advanced than just kiddies fiddling with a hex editor.

If you ask me what the purpose is, perhaps money?

yep - advertising revenue mostly.
i actually posted that post before they released the v4 update.
in my eyes the ethicality of bricking consoles was worse than what i had suggested. however i didnt realise i had misunderstood how the brickings were happeneing. i of course didnt realise brickings were only happeneing because of people downloading the hexed versions from that site.

^ I think M33's ability to converse in English isn't that good.  I think everyone misunderstood them.

This is what I really think they meant: Don't download this from PS3news - if you did, you, most likely, will brick.  To ensure that you didn't get this file from PS3lamers, make sure you clear both your PC and PSP's cache, otherwise, you risk bricking.
