interesting fact: you can't use the new nano while skiing or on really hot summer days at the beach:

Operating temperature: 32° to 95° F (0° to 35° C)

Don't forget:

• No games (unless iPods support poo poo games
  
• No Wifi / Internet Browser
  
• No homebrew / emulators
  
• Limited expandability
  
• Can't use external media (PSP's memsticks can continue growing in size)
  
• No free PSX / ISOs etc

not sticking up for iPods, but the new iPod Touch has Wifi, and probably has games.
i would prefer a PSP anyday but i have one, and only use it for ISOs :D
