if there is't a market they can't sell these things,.. even when its already posible >?!
i don't think finding the market is the problem.... it's finding a cost effective solution to be able to get the product out at a decent price and bug free..... look at dvd for example. they came out in the late 90s whereabouts and back then they would've cost around £20 (use a converter if you're uncomfortable with the sterling), maybe even more (and don't forget how much the players cost.....) now i could pop into Tesco's (for example) and buy a dvd player for the same price as the dvd's originally were and i could probably get around 5 DVD's for half that amount..... what wee used to think was cutting edge is on the brink of becoming obsolete after a relatively short period.....
another example are HDTVs...... go back when they came out (6-7 years ago maybe :s) and they'd have cost you £5-6000.... couple years ago my parents bought me a 42" LCD for around £1400.... a year later they bought the exact same tv for around £900..... and by now you could probably get a decent TV for around £500
basically if people can't afford your product it won't sell.... i guess the above examples are things that did manage to survive but i doubt whether the 3ds would've lasted long if it was released back then.... (look at what happened to sega... and think about nintendo's 'dual disk system' for the n64......)
