I say go with a Laptop. You get portability, they usually have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth built in, and most come with widescreen displays.

Personally, I'm looking at a MacBook because they have good starting specs, not too clunky, and the quality of Apple's products is second to none.They start at US$1099 and you can upgrade the specs like having a 200 GB HD instead of a 120, and 2 GB ram instead of 1GB. IMO, I think they're worth it
