lol its alright but no more hijacking.
ya, assassinator, the reader was a bit odd with screw positioning and doesn't fit well in the adaptor that Antec supplied, so its a bit of a bodge to fit it in.
RAID0, not a bad idea, but that would mean id have to reformat everything wouldnt it? what kind of speed increase are wee talking here?
Assassinator Wrote:How did you even managed to put the CPU on if the pins were bent? It's not supposed to go in... unless i7 is really that different from what I've worked with (core2 and AMD)...
And how was installing the heatsink and fan? I remember on my brother's old Intel machine the push pins were so retarded and hard to get down wee spent like 2 hrs on it, Zinga mentioned a similar experience too when he bought his computer.
Well, at least your computer didn't blow up on you. Mine did, literally, in the 1st few hrs of use.
the CPU itself on an i7 has no pins, it is completely flat, with gold pads on it. The socket on the motherboard is the male part of the socket, with the pins upright, with gaps in between, so i slide the keyring in between the gaps and bent them up. you could say the socket is in reverse to all other PCs.
the heatsink and fan were a BITCH. they're not particularly responsive (you don't really know if its pushed in or not lol) and when one pushed in, another popped out >_>
eventually it all got in, and i forgot to lock the processor in place xD it went through windows install and programs and i hadnt realised the heatsink couldve fell off onto my graphics card at any moment lol. also cleaned off the intel waxy poo poo with methylated spirits and reapplied the céramique.
i would die if my computer blew up lol

Err.... that's just the Intel stock fan...
yeah i plan to upgrade it later with a Scythe, Zalman or CoolerMaster cooler.

i havent OC'ed it yet, im letting the thermal compound set properly first.
