How does exFAT's 32KB block size compare to FAT32's 64KB block size in terms of speed?

By the way larger block size = faster, but more space wastage.

Only the first of those would actually improve performance...
Contiguous layout is more useful for HDDs, not flash drives...

I might give it a try sometime.  Thanks for the heads up :P

EDIT: doesn't appear that a 64-bit XP driver exists.  Don't really have a spare USB handy either, so I'll skip on this one for now.
