Saying you don't like anime, is like saying you don't like music. Anime has something for everyone. People just need to watch more than what's on TV or found by a fast Google search. All of my friend didn't know what anime is, or said they don't like it, (ie: didn't give a real chance). Now they all love it and are always bugging me for what is new, and many have shown me some stuff I liked.
