Nono. It is irrelevant whether they introduce a new battery or not, because it won't stop the PSP (not the battery) searching for the IPL stored on whatever battery is inserted.
It's like an OS and your BIOS (assuming it doesn't flash the BIOS). Whatever OS you install, you'll always be able to get rid of it, since the OS can't block the POST sequence. Similarly, whatever Sony does with batteries, they cannot stop the sequence of booting from a custom IPL.
diego_429 Wrote:yeah and I don't think sony will do that last thing since it will force ALOT of people to have to buy NEW batteries so alot of people will get frustrated with sony and hate them . .. .
Actually, that would be suicide for the company...

RE: PSP Firmware V3.70 Released.
yeah like zinga said.. the pandora thing is a hardware issue.. sony can't fix with just firmware.. sony could fix with a new battery but they would also have to redo their hardware... they would be very costly and leave everyone that doesn't want to be rail roaded into something out in the cold if they decided to discontinue support for the other hardware... the only reason to even consider doing that would be to defeat piracy of isos..
the percentage of people with a psp vs. the people with a psp and use isos is low... under 10 percent.. i know lots of people around the city with a psp ( i live in a BIG city) and not one know about homebrew or CFW.. basically they will lose alot of money to try and defeat piracy and that won't happen anyhow

RE: PSP Firmware V3.70 Released.
This 3.70 update is for the healthy psp though, not the malnourished one. Isn't it?
