RE: Convert mkv video with subs to psp
In regards to my previous thing about using VSFilter to burn in subs, I've found that it's a bit of a pain if you prefer to use the player's internal subtitle filter instead (that is, you have to constantly switch back and forth between the two, or just get used to VSFilter for all your subs).
Maybe I'll set up and make 64-bit default for my media playback, and 32-bit for encoding.

Why not just use VSFilter for all your subs, I don't see anything wrong with VSFilter.
But you still encode stuff for PSP? I sort of stopped doing that a while ago.

Need to control everything via systray, which is less convenient than the context menu in full screen mode.
Also, VSFilter is limited to the video display area, whilst the player can display subs outside the area. Though now I have a widescreen monitor, it's not really different...

RE: Convert mkv video with subs to psp
Use xvid4psp 5.0
don't use 6.0 because as far as I know/remember winnydows (the guy who writes it) hasn't coded hardsub support in yet. xvid4psp5 has hard sub support.
I use to use xvid4psp5 and (a possibly un-necessary) k-lite codec pack
and it never once failed me
http://www.winnydows.com/#Downloads?XviD4PSP
there also use to be a rethemed/modded version of 5 that had some other cool tricks
it's probably buried on his site somewhere
