but luckily wee had spares

try switch analogs and faceplates to fix your other psp

it sounds my Samsung flash has defect, it will create unreadable filename SECG*, makes F1 inaccessible sometimes..

Yeah. Several months with a single PSP and still going strong here. I've only semi-bricked several times. The only time I've ever been worried about a full brick was when first downgrading. But that finished without hitting a snag. I researched what to have and what to do for a downgrade/upgrade for about two months before making the decision and buying a PSP.

I've got plenty of customizations going on, too. I don't have a custom Vshmain.prx, though, because I could never modify a working pspbtncnf or whatever the file is. It'd always semi-brick when I tried. Probably text editors mucking the formatting. Only prx editing I've got right now is the opening_plugin.prx, for the bootsound, actually. I'll have to look into things when I have more time.
