Oh, thought you were talking about the OVA.
Yeah, 1 year is a bit excessive, but then, it's a drama I guess, and some people are weaker than others.
My memory is a bit fuzzy - was this mourning for 1 year, or 1 year before he went out with Mitsuki?

He kept on mourning for more than a year and totally disregarded Mitsuki taking care of her. Eventually, she broke down, told him she loved him and on receiving no response from him, stripped down and yada yada yada...

Well there was a number of things I guess. Eg what to do when she woke up.
Also don't know to what extent he mourned to, but 1 year is quite significant.

That is fine, but it does not justify living like a loser doing nothing and getting others unnecessarily involved and hurt. Not to mention that it was not what to do when she wakes up but rather "Boo hoo.. she is in a coma.. waaa... now what??!"
