So is the PSP-3000 hackable?
It's something I've never really looked into since I have a PSP which has been hacked for hears but my PSP is really on its last legs now with dodge shoulder button, Square button and it goes off by itself with the slightest physical pressure on its battery side.
Not forgetting the few scratches that have finally made it onto its screen.
The PSPgo, to me, seems pretty pointless so long as you can do everything it can on a PSP-3000.
And just take a look at this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listing...dition=new
That's about €125. Bargain!
So... can I take this to the dark side? If I can.... how would I do it?
[I'm also considering a new phone cause my Nokia 1100 is looking pretty... errr... bad... now .. xD]

RE: So is the PSP-3000 hackable?
Well, it all depends on the firmware the PSP-3000 comes with. If it's 5.03 firmware or below (least it can be is 5.00) you can simply use the ChickenHEN exploit, I believe. If it's above 5.03, then you're out of luck (best thing to do is to buy a used one, I'd think the new ones would come with the newest firmware).
And on the topic of phones, the upcoming Nokia N900 looks amazing and it runs a Linux-based OS (Nokia's calling it a 'tablet', but it's more of a phone).
Here's some info on the Nokia N900 > http://www.electronista.com/articles/09/....official/

ProperBritish Wrote:its not fully hacked, but the HEN exploit can work, like he said if its on the right firmware. I myself would get annoyed of having to run the exploit everytime i wanted to do something on my PSP
That.
It lets you temporarily load into CFW, but you loose it the next time you restart the PSP, so you have to use the exploit to load it again. Using the exploit is sort of annoying and can take up to loads of attempts to get it to work.
So yeah, I say get yourself a 2000 (or 1000) if you can, rather than the 3000.

yeah the 2000 seems like a reasonable alternative...

Unless you have that certain model which cannot be hacked, yes.
Most 2000 models can't make the Pandora, but can use the Pandora. You have a 1000 to make the Pandora with anyway.
