I think TheFluff was right - cause this is far from entertainment, and I'm considering something I didn't think were possible after Ep1 of season 2, which was absolute genius - that is - dropping it..

TheFluff is not right on that being really what KyoAni was planning, there is no financial benefit to them for attempting something like that. TheFluff could be right in the sense that it's what's actually happening. However, relationship does not imply causation.

IMO they (KyoAni) are simply milking the Haruhi name, and making some effortless money out of it. Since fans are stupid and would probably buy a bottle of piss if the bottle has a picture of Haruhi on it fans are fans, and would still watch it however bad it may be, they don't actually need to spend effort making it good.

They're going to buy it anyway, for "collection's sake". Being unhappy with it doesn't mean they'll not buy it. They'll buy it simply because it's "Haruhi", such is the nature of true fans.

Of course, the sales will be lower, however, it may still be worth if the reduction in sales is less than the reduction in effort they spent (so the end result is still a gain per effort).
