Threaded Mode | Linear Mode

I generally find 3 different types:
1) The anime doesn't bother with episode titles
2) The anime uses 1 or 2 words in the title
3) The rest

Typically, those with 1 or 2 words, generally don't relate too much to the content of the episode, thus the aim is more to probably evoke some emotional thought (or act as some symbol).

What do you think are the best? Do you really pay any attention to the titles? Do you think they have an effect on you?

Not much effect, but they should be good Titles so you can identify what episode it is you watched if you want to reference it in the future.

Not hundred percent true... look at Death Note, Angel Tales, Alice Academy... err. that's about as much as I can remember right now.. but yea.. in general, short titles give a impact like Elfen Lied or Darker than Black (how related to anime??) or Ninja Scroll..

I think that the name or title makes a significant impact or you wanting to watch it.. consider Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex...

i prefer number 3 and then number 2, i like to be able to remeber what a certain episode was about and its kinda hard with no title..lol.

My friend from school learned all the episodes of Naruto from memory without even watching the titles. You can ask him to tell you about a certain episode and he'll tell you what it about. spooky

I'll admit that I memorized all 150 Pokemon, along with their numbers when I was a kid...
I also memorized all of the 100 sounds, their names and sequence numbers of the keyboard I had, when I was 4.

In contrast, I hate subjects which require a lot of memory work...

Anyway, I find for some animes, the short titles do work and I do feel that they can evoke some kind of thought or suggestion to some symbol. Otherwise, I don't pay much attention to them.
