Conservative leader David Cameron has become the new prime minister after the resignation of Gordon Brown.
Lib Dem leader Nick Clegg will be his deputy prime minister in the UK's first coalition government in 70 years.
Mr Cameron, who at 43 is the youngest PM in nearly 200 years, vowed to set aside party differences and govern "in the national interest".
His party won the most seats in the general election last week, but not an overall Commons majority.
Lib Dem MPs and peers are still meeting to give their formal backing to the power-sharing deal, however Downing Street said the Queen had approved Mr Clegg's appointment.

RE: Cameron is the new prime minister
Bah...this thread is a very bad idea
Anyway, to fill the final role quite nicely, im neutral. I don't particularly like David Cameron or the Tories, but i do think that after Gordon Brown failed to prove himself as something different, the least wee can do is give Cameron a go

RE: Cameron is the new prime minister
I watched the press thingy they did (30mins) and they seem to be on good terms (Nick and David) - to be honest the UK [especially its media] needs to stop looking at everything as doom and gloom.
If they say they can achieve change for the greater good of the nation then let them do what they want to do - if you care about the nation.. of course.

It's goddamn politics. Have you ever heard of a politician NOT say something like that?

No (obviously). But with no hope it's just misery (then again, some people just don't care. Like me) . /sigh
