If you couldn't tell by the title, what began as a cover of "Jerry Was A Racecar Driver" by Primus and turned into a jam session that (at one point) sounded a bit like "Smells Like Teen Spirit" by Nirvana is my band's newest recorded song.

I'm on the drums, my friend Anthony is on the bass. Our guitarist wasn't present today as he lives too far away and hasn't gotten his car insured. He should be here for practice tomorrow though, so wee might some more.

Be kind, this song was in no way supposed to sound professional. It was recorded with my bassist's 8track, then converted to mp3 by your ever loyal prince of darkness, theEvilOne. The parts where it sounds like wee are just playing random spoon is, well, because wee were. Mostly this was recorded for testing purposes.

I won't lie to you--it is awesome and it is a lot of fun (not to mention the ladies love it), but there is a bunch of bullchocolate that's always incorporated when you're in a band.
For one (as I said in the OP), my guitarist lives to far away, so band practice almost always never happens, and when it does it's just me and my bassist. Two, certain band members are always trying to come up with their own "sound" for the band, saying that they want to be different from every other metal band (and it's not as easy as it may sound). Three, recording is a bitch, especially when you're recording the drums with a singer's mic (it sounds good enough to me, though), and you have no idea how an 8track player works (at least I don't, but starting yesterday I'm being taught). Four, band members prefer NOT to write down tabs for their instruments when writings songs, saying that they are too good to forget how to play the song; at the next band practice both my bassist and guitarist had forgotten the entire song.

The upside to being in a band is that you get to hang with your friends and just jam and annoy the neighbors. That's pretty much it.
