RE: Wolfenstein : Choose your country
I got the game on PS3 the other day. The game is 17GB and so far does not have a patch (will update this on day one if a patch comes)
Slight game detail spoilers below, no story info what so ever just my thoughts and some small details.
The game is great so far, I am really liking the the vibe it gives off, the story being slow at the start but really start unraveling in a nice way that will feel welcoming to Wolfenstein fans. The hardcore shoot-em-up style of it is still there, but sided with pleasant stealth mechanics that makes decision making of how to approach situations alot of fun. Replay value is high as you can see, the story can be altered by the players decision throughout the games story. The cut scenes look really nice (on PS3) but the shading of the worlds textures are alot like the game RAGE (or other newer games that use id tech 5 game engine) where standing really close to something like a wall the textures get really really blurry (like unable to even read the text from a poster you are standing right in front of) but when you start backing up away from the wall or whatever, the textures become much more clearer and nicer looking. Like I said, If you have played RAGE before you will know what im talking about. But yeah I would have to say the thing I am most disappointed about would have to be the textures detail pop in's (or pop outs?)
Keep in mind that I am playing on the PS3, I would imagine that the 360 will have similar texture problems, but I'm sure that the PS4 and Xbox one look awesomely amazing without the blurry textures.
When I had a look at the games files, I noticed "build.cfg" and inside had only a few things but what caught my eye was "+feature_hq 0 +feature_lowgore 0 " - feature_hq hmm that's sad. Anyway I tried enabling it and the game booted but hangs on one of the logo screens right before the main menu. Oh well, I knew it probably wouldn't work anyway, just wanted to try :P
You will find a handful side quest too along the way too that reward you with nice loot. There is alot of things you can collect / look for throughout the game as well such as Enigma codes that when solved will unlock new content. There is letters around the world that can be found also concept art, character bios that can be unlocked.
If anyone has questions, I have answers.
