How to change speed of an audio track
I may have mentioned this before, don't remember, but I have an audio track I'm trying to overlay on a video from a different source, and they're both a bit out of sync.  I'm trying to overlay the English track on a remastered Outlaw Star mkv, half of the remastered series is without English audio, and I honestly don't mind the voices.  It falls out of sync by about 10 seconds by the end, and I'm looking for a program that will stretch it out without altering the pitch, has anyone ever heard of such a creature?

PC only please, I don't have enough cash fer a Mac.

RE: How to change speed of an audio track
There are algorithms to alter the speed of sounds without altering pitch however these introduce distortion and artifacts in the sound and I recommend against using them.  It's probably better to either just shift the pitch or change the framerate of the video.

However Sound Forge's Time Stretch feature does seem to be one of the best I've seen (defects are still noticeable, but if it's not a big issue, it may be acceptable).  Haven't tried other suggestions ere though.

ABLETON For the win

Can change BPM, tempo, pitch and so on, but more importantly (for you), you can warp audio to fit video.  A very awesome program, albeit a bit complex.

RE: How to change speed of an audio track
I know it's possible to do it in AviSynth, but I personally never did it myself..

If you've never heard of AviSynth before, then pretend this post never existed. Because you probably don't want to learn it just for that.

Supposedly, I think I've heard someone say BeSweet (or is it BeLight) can do it too...
