OK I just want to know if it is possible to have sound on my comp without a sound card??
I have seen some software around that make it able to do this but I can't remember where.....
The reason why is because I have no soundcard in my upstairs comp but I would really like to have sound for free and without hassle.
a modem with sound capabilities? ..

if there is no soundcard then all you will get is the system beep..that is why the sound card was invented :( look on ebay you can get one for $5
most motherboards come with integrated sound, its seems strange that you don't have one in this day etc
Still, how could you use software to create a hardware port???

very creative coding maybe?
i remember loooong time ago in dos 6.2 there was a software driver that loaded via autoexec.bat that very terribly made "noises" come out of the system speaker to get passed the requirements of having a sound card for games that wouldnt run without it...it was VERY painful on the ears but it got me into those few games until i was lucky enough to get an ISA soundblaster. (that's before pci was avaliable for those who dno tknow)

no no, I'm pretty sure that's not possible without connecting at least one cable -_-"
