windows 7 sounds like an awesome os, if they make it just like xp, with all the error fixes up vista, (no im not implyng that vista fixed anything) and they add more customization, and have a menu to choose if your an advance user (anyone on this forum prob) or a beginer (grandma =]) then that would be an awesome os.
I've never used vista.
Fact of the matter is. Vista takes a bite out of your RAM for a better Visual Experience.

A large amount of people realize that, in the end of the day, they just want to use their computers..

So, after all, if you can run the deathly Vista smoothly, and still have space to do anything else efficiently - good for you.

Logically, you don't NEED any of the stuff in Vista... its like an old car with a new paint job - and it runs like spoon.

XP SP3 will live long for Windows 7.

Until you become forced on me, Vista - bye bye..
Although it still has a long way in, I do believe the open source community has made a huge step into the Windows world.  I think Linux, especially, has used Microsoft's delay to push themselves into the light (so wee hear about exciting Linux developments, but nothing about Windows).

It's interesting to see what happens...
i had no idea they would abandon vista, i thought they were going to cling on and ignore the fact a lot of people hate it.
