Sounds like your backlight dude.

Maybe not though-
Do you have a DC5 made up ??
Try reinstalling cfw with that.
then use Chilly Willy's Key cleaner to clean your keys.
Maybe you screwed ID Storage...
yes sir i do have it but with the way the screen is i can't see what is there, great idea, though
You may have already said: (but i didn't catch it)
Which cfw are you running right now ??
right now i have 371m33, from what i can see it's almost like a negative image
When you "tilt" the screen, you can't see it enough to run DC5?
Try putting it in, giving it a second to boot, and pressing X anyway.

Even if you accidentally pick the option to install ofw, then you can use it to install cfw after.

Kind of a shot in the dark, but it may work  [Image: smile.gif]
The same thing happened to my old psp. The backlight power cord is probably disconnected. did u ever take it apart? If not, then the backlight is probably the problem anyways. The problem u described would require either a new lcd entirely (expensive and a pain in the donkey to install) or just get a new psp. That's what I did, now the proud owner of a useless phat and a slim XD
i have taken it apart and installed another faceplate and the backlight power cord is connected as well as the screen , i had two lcd's and both were doing the same thing, i didn't have any trouble installing the other lcd, just can't figure out what is wrong, hey trademark91 , what would you take for your old phat psp?? or maybe just  the motherboard,
its a hardware thing change your LCD!
well, i took another lcd and it still doesn't work, so i went on ebay and bought another psp, and took the lcd from the old one and that lcd is good, so it's the motherboard, i think the fuse for the backlight is shot, so i just took and put it on ebay and sold it, i don't know that much about soldering, so someone else can maybe get it to work
