Hello all, I am as you can see fairly new to this form so far I <3 it since I've found out that I can modify my xmb theme.

The tutorial from robs helped me alot http://endlessparadigm.com/forum/showthr...p?tid=7176

I've been playing with different customizations until today. I recieved this "cyclic redundancy" Message, so I searched online and found out that it is an "out of space" error message. well even trying to install any other xmb's gave me the same problem.  Short of pandoring my psp I decided to restore my original backup of flash 0 (as sugested by robs in his tutorial) but I restored by deleting each folder manualy then copying back to flash0 the folder of my backup. I figured the worst could happen I brick and have to use pandora to fix.

Well doing this has fixed the problem.  :D so ty once again robs for sugesting a full backup of flash0 to start off.

I thought to post this for anyone else who had this error message as a search didn't pull up any sugestions besides pandoring the firmware.

My guess would be that some custom xmb's don't use "all" the same files when creating or adding and when just copying a new one to flash0 not all files from the old file are deleted. (Just a hypothetical guess, it explains alot).

Anyway Thank you once again Robs for your nice tutorial,

Derek
Delete the 'dic' folder from your flash0, and dummy some font files.

Doesn't make a difference as they are all gone. I did that in the tutorial robs provided.
Compress the files if they aren't already?

I might in the future if the problem happens again. (I'll have to look into that though,) I just posted to say I found another solution short of pandoring the firmware.
if you ever edit files on your flash0 with rcoedit you will get .bak files left over taking up space!
Moved to "PSP Help" for anyone who is looking for the solution to the problem.

It's never a good idea to edit a file while its on your PSP, you should always copy the file to your PC then edit it and transfer to your PSP.
i think it's the bonus feature since 3.7M33, when writing to flash0, it will complain. especially writing a big file such as paf.prx

what i can do is shut & restarting the recovery mode when encountering this crc error.. u can try few times, it maybe work.

and finally, the ultimate solution is using the USB mode by ELF Menu.. in my experience..
i found an answer to that "cyclic redundancy check" if that message occur just simply go to your drive mine is E: right click-properties-tools tab-error checking-check now-click two boxes and run!!!!
transfer you file now and it will not promt again! hope this help.
