Holy shit, I just got an idea that may be better than any other idea I've ever posted on here before. You know why it's better? Because I might actually be able to feasibly make it happen. Here's my idea:

Okay, today I replaced my iPod's casing, leaving me with a customized iPod and a slightly scratched extra front plate and back plate. I was thinking of stuff I could do with it, when I got an idea. What if I got an old PDA or Windows Mobile phone, gut it, cut the iPod front plate as needed, and put the old device into the iPod's casing, fixing the components to the backplate and front plate as needed, and rewiring components to go different places as needed and whatnot. I'm learning about electronics stuff bit by bit, and this seems like a cool project and a much better alternative to throwing away my old iPod parts :D
man that sounds pretty cool!!!
post pics if u do it!!!
That's fun until you open and realize "What the hell, I never learned any of this!"

The sad thing is it always sound so much easier, until you get it open and see the pci board and how close everything is together.

Besides how are you going to integrate the ipod controls? You will have to reprogram the microcontroller or integrate drivers into the os.

No, no, you misunderstand. I'm only using the shell, ie faceplate and backplate, to house the innards of whatever device I use, no other iPod parts involved.
ok...Well good luck (honestly not sarcastically)
I hope you get it done.
It is cool to try things out..  That what moddin is about...
post pics!
MUCH harder then it seems... Good luck though.
But are you sure you'll be able to get a Pocket PC that's small enough to fit in the casing?
