I don't know if anyone knows the answer to this, but perhaps someone here has used it?

Currently, i don't have a network set up at home (my ISP is still AOL :'( and they still won't allow it unless you get there wireless package), and i have a laptop with vista which doesn't run any of my games very well
I am going to install XP gamers edition, since i don't have an XP CD to nlite myself, but everywhere i look, people say that the LAN drivers have been removed, and you can't create a network on it

Is there anyway, before or after the installation to insert these drivers so taht when my dad finally gets around to switching our ISP i can put my laptop into our LAN?
You wouldn't think they would get rid of LAN Drivers from a Gamers version of XP...

I suppose the only way around is to actually install the original drivers~

actually - there should be a LAN Driver to install with the Driver Disk that should've been included with your Laptop.
i didnt get a disk with my laptop
Its Vista, andf i had to make my own recovery Disk, which i did, but that means that the LAN dirvers i have are for Vista, not XP

And i wouldnt have thought so, but that is what ive been hearing
someone Wrote:But what is not hot...
There is a dll missing for making a home network.
there for you can not contact any other pc.
and there are no drivers for lan (that is so a shame)
someone else Wrote:Just installed and tried it and it s great. Extremely fast, but you'll have to work a little for your drivers. No networking, but Internet is good.

Perhaps im just reading it wrong
Im gonna go ahead anyway, i have my recovery CD if it doesn't work, i was just wondering
well check your LAN Card ~ go to the manufacturers homepage and download a generic driver for your card~
STOP!!!

do NOT install that poo poo. If you don't have nLite or don't want to do it, download another version... TONNES of things will not work with the so called Gamers Edition. Someone just had enough head to name it nicely. It the saddest XP I ever tried. If at all you want a pre modded XP, go for TinyXP or XP Black Edition. Black Edition gives you an option to disable stuff you won't need at 1st boot (and later via the cd).

Seriously...

or better.. get Linux.
Linux won't run Fable :(, and black edition...sounds interesting
lol... black is really huge though.. 1 DVD. But it gives you mega spoon load of s/w before hand... you can install all that you want at installation itself...
sounds good, i just have to find some XP compatable drivers fro my hardware now (the website only has Vista drivers...tossers)
I keep hearing bad things about th eblack edition, mainly connected to the uploader, are there more than one version?  One upload I saw had warnings of a trojan (no, not a false positive that AVG gets) that connected to this guy's site, I dunno.  Get it from a place that has comments on it, read up on it.  Also, might want to check out Johnny's XP Ultimate, friend of mine installed it, has found very few issues with it.  Its based on sp3, so get the newest version if you look at it.
what is the make and model of the lan card you trying to make work? my pc also came with vista and i had to track down all the drivers for it and i did it successfully.... i don't really think vista is new enough to have stuff built just for it (could be wrong though) so the drivers more then likely exist somewhere..
