Hey guys, as you may know from my other thread I have purchased a new 19" HD Ready (not full HD) TV, a Samsung SyncMaster 932MW.

My 360 is connected through the provided Componet Cable and I've set the switch on it to HDTV. This enabled the 720p, 1080i and 1080p videomodes, all three are displaying a proper nice image, but what would be the best setting for my TV?

Thanks for infos in advance Gongxi
720 I guess... Good enough for me.
If your monitor REALY does 1080p (1920x1080) then that is the best..but if you have one of those that fakes it by downsampling 1080p video to the monitors true native resolution of 1366x768 or something goofy then 720pizzle for the wizzle ya know what im zayinnng?

ROFL...my first google result for your monitor name

wow...

*edit*  so the native resolutino is 1440x900...that kinda sucks cause ANY video signal you throw at it will be scaled by the monitor :(

so now its a tough call...1080p would probably be better becuase downscaling will ALWAYS look better than upscaling because upscaling you have to make pixels where there werent pixels before..downscaling has more data than needed and can easily remove and blend pixels as needed...so...test them both..but anyhing I is not going to be as nice.
mhm I see, thanks you two, I will go with downscaling then. But what's the difference between 1080p and 1080i?
I'm PRETTY SURE theres no such thing as 1080p

EDIT: My bad: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High-defini...esolutions

Since your monitor isn't full HD, go for 720 I guess.
erm, since when could you use HD over Component?
