Wow this sucks...now Azumi and I won't be the only ones speaking Japanese....lol

Also I'm pretty sure you are wrong. Desu doesn't mean it is, I am or anything like that, unless it as the end and there is no other verb in the scentence (even then that's still arguable) it's simply used to make the verb you said in its "polite" form. I could be wrong (Azumi would probably know more about it than me) but I am pretty sure I'm not.

There are also a few other errors. I understand your triying to simplify the language so people can speak it but don't.
you will complicate it for them in the end.

It's probably better to just watch anime, japanese tv or move to japan.
The language is so complex that it is better to, instead of converting it to english in your head, scrap english entirely and just start building japanese as a new language into your brain.

yeah what classes have you taken? goto japan and start talking with out the desu, and people will be like gee... this guy didnt do his homework.. not only have i taken classes, but i have plenty of japanese friends.. im not trying to burn you our nothing, but that is the truth.. also azumi is one of the people that requested this... :P and believe me i apreciate what your saying, but im 100% sure that once I complete this program, you will be able to walk around japan, ask for directions, start a converstation with cute asian girls, order food at a japanese restaraunt and get a job. i can even teach you how to become a legal resident.

by the way i watch plenty of anime too, no matter what you watch desu is most definately used it sounds like "dess" also even if someone could understand you with out it, they wouldn't think you were polite... sorry i made this bigger than it should be, please have faith in meh :P
thanks for this.. I've been slacking with my learning of the japanese language lately. maybe this will
get me back into the swing of things :)

by the way, i find this site helpful with learning japanese so some of u who start using this might want to check it out
