But how many of you guys can actually tell the difference in normal conditions? I used to hear them the same until I bought some sweet headphones that pump the music quality up and makes it notable.

i was listening to that track on my totally fudged laptop speakers and my fudged soundcard and at a low volume and could spot the difference easily

I have some old crappy speakers, but was easy for me to hear.
Though with that sample, it's not exactly the best in a sense. The complexity of the sound is too low. Also, they don't mention what encoder they use - that has a difference too.
Lastly, sometimes you need a reference sound...

Hmm, this one's a bit harder - see if you can tell the difference between these three:
A: Object Link
B: Object Link
C: Object Link
(try ranking them)

B is by far the best sounding one, and im not too sure but i think A is the next best and C is the worst. I'm not too sure about the last two, that was a hard one.

^ Actually, C is the reference sound (320kbps), A and B are the 128kbps sounds. Try ranking them, considering that C is the reference sound - which one sounds closer to C?
