I like it, how easy would it be to change the icons, I have mah own favorites I'd like to use.

Also, I'm more interested in the lighting on the background, the sky in the upper right corner, is this an effect you've done, or just differences in the pics taken?

Yes JokR is  correct.  It is just the .gif format of the preview causing those lighting effects.  
And yes, you can change the icons to whatever you want  

I'm still adding stuff to this theme.  but progress is going well.  Should be done real soon.
