the movie theaters

Plus, running a game from ISO rather than UMD is much, much faster

I like you.
Like said, CFW is helping the PSP. I would have never asked for a PSP if I didn't know about what custom firmware bought about. (And I first encountered CFW when 3.52 M33 was around)
Personally, I bought the PSP for videos.  I've rarely played games on it, even the one that came with the PSP.

At the time, the PSP's AU$400 price tag for a device with a 4.3in screen was really attractive, as opposed to devices costing AU$600-1000 to get similar sized screens (they offered 20GB harddrives, but a 1GB stick is really suffice for my purposes.

Okay, so you can play videos on official firmware - why custom firmware?  Cause PMPlayer AdVanCe is soooo much better Sony's video player (IMO).  Plus loads of other useful things, such as extra brightness controls, CPU controls and so on.
the only thing that it comes down to is the personal pt of view. A knife can be used to cut a cake, dissect a rat or stab your girl friend. Its really down to what type of character you have.!

lol you put that good
Kon79 Wrote:ok you guys kinda slid off the question,so are you saying it will not mess up your psp right?

having custom firmware gives you more opportunity to mess up your psp.

-you have full access to flash0/1/2/3 where you could modify/move/delete the wrong file and the bam..you got to brick
-you can accidentally run a malicious homebrew app that will do the above for you
-you can install a psp theme that wasn't ment for your psp and cause it not too boot.

As for cfw being a bad thing..hell no!!

I modify everything i can

-My xbox has custom firmware so i can run Xbox Media Center
-My xbox360 has custom dvd firmware so my wife can mis handle her oblivion disk and when it is all skratched to hell and will no longer read, i can burn her another one
-My windows mobile phone has custom firmware so it actually WORKS when it needs to and has all non essentials stipped out so it run way faster and more stable than the ofw that comes installed.
-My subaru wrx has custom firmware to get me more turbo boost at a lower rpm and take advantage of the fact that i removed all 3 catalytic converters, took out the turbo intake silencer, and put on a high flowing exhaust, Now I can now go 0-60 in a little over 4 seconds
-My psp has custom firmware so i can use it as a canvas to my creativity :)

As for the pirates...arrrgggghhhh...if a game is worth it i buy it, and then i don't play it cause i get an idea and i have more fun hex editing and playing in photoshop LOL
Yeah, I read an article on QJ on how many people have downloaded God Of War for the PSP in the first week

90,000!! for that single game in that week via Torrent!

If im not mistaking that's what it was.. So yea wee'll kill the PSP one way or the other.
Custom firmware won't destroy the PSP.... humans will silly!!
isos are awesome but only if you own the original. if piracy continues it will eventually mean that cf itself will be illegal. i don't want a criminal record for doing something that isn't hurting anyone so my message to the pirates

     STOP FUCKING PIRATING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
